Based on the Academy Award winning animated feature, the stage version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast includes all the wonderful songs of the film, plus new songs written especially for the Broadway version. You will be transported to a lovely French provincial town where the beautiful Belle lives with her father – a doting inventor. When her father doesn’t return from a trip to the local fair, Belle rushes off to find him. To her dismay, she discovers he is being held captive in an old castle by a horrible beast. She trades her freedom for his and the “tale as old as time” begins. In this classic tale, Belle learns not to judge by appearances (“God looks at the heart” 1 Samuel 16:7). How Belle tames the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation into a handsome prince continues to enthrall audiences. Filled with spectacular costumes and simply staged, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. will bring our entire community together for family theatre at its best.
Performances will be May 6, 7 and 8 at 7:00 pm in the PCA Gymnasium. Tickets go on sale in the school front office on Monday, April 12. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Children age 3 and younger are free.
