PCA Announces Building Project

During Parent Night on March 28th, Mike Stalnaker, PCA Board member and Chairman of the Building Committee, discussed the future vision for PCA.  He stated that in early 2007, the Providence Christian Academy Board of Directors passed a unanimous motion to add as second Pre-K class for the 2007-08 academic year, add a third kindergarten the following year and then continue with three classes per grade moving forward.

In order to continue with the fulfillment of the vision to offer three classes per grade and to meet the current need for additional space, PCA’s Board and Administration developed a Building Committee that has worked with an architect to develop plans for new buildings that will meet current and future needs.  This is an exciting time for PCA!  Please begin to pray for our school and ask God how you may be involved.

Message from the Headmaster

Providence Christian Academy has been blessed with tremendous growth over the past several years.  God has brought dozens of families from across the county to PCA and we now have more than 330 students enrolled in pre-K through 12th grades.  With this tremendous growth, comes the need for additional space.

Currently, we are out of room to house additional classes in our Upper School and Lower School buildings, scheduling athletic programs, art, music and PE classes for Pre K-12th has become a challenge and we are in need of an additional multi-purpose room to meet the increasing demand for space during lunch and chapel.

With these needs in mind, it is with great excitement that I share with you plans to build new additions that will meet the needs of our students and families for many years to come.  These plans are the result of the hard work and prayers of your Board, Administration and Faculty.

A Building Committee made up of Board members, faculty members, parents and building professionals has been meeting for many months to determine the needs of our school and they recently began working with a local architect, Jim Bailey, to develop building plans that will accommodate our needs for growth and best suit the vision for our school.

Our new building will include:
·      26 additional classrooms for a total of 42 classrooms
·      New music classrooms
·      New art classrooms
·      An Upper School and Lower School Library/ Media Center
·      A new Multi-purpose gym that will act as a lunchroom, offer space for additional PE classes and provide an area for upper school or lower school chapel
·      Boys and girls locker rooms
·      A weight room
·      New office space

Our building project will involve the construction of two new buildings.  One building will be located on the backside of the current gymnasium and will include a multi- purpose gym/lunchroom with serving area, a weight room, two art classrooms and two music classrooms.

The second portion of the project will involve removing the current upper school building and constructing a larger building that will house all Lower School classrooms, a library/ media center and the PCA main offices.

The new buildings will allow PCA to achieve our goal of three classes per grade from kindergarten through 12th grade and will provide a specific area for each grade level.  Elementary school, middle school and high school students will have defined areas within the school reinforcing the Classical education model of a School of Grammar, a School of Logic and a School of Rhetoric.

In order to fulfill this vision, we need generous financial support from each of our families.  At PCA we believe in equal sacrifice, not equal giving.  Please pray and consider how you may be involved in this unique opportunity to give above and beyond your annual fund gift. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on the educational and spiritual growth of children in our community for many years to come.

I believe that God will touch the hearts of our families and provide us with unlimited resources to build His school.

In Him,

William ‘Butch’ Vaughn
Headmaster

Message from the Limitless Campaign Partnership Team

We believe that God will do amazing things at PCA over the next three years and that the generosity of our families and others will dramatically impact our school and our community for many years to come.  The Limitless campaign verse states, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen,” Ephesians 3:20-21.

We are asking that contributions to the Limitless campaign be returned to the PCA Development office by Friday, May 10, 2013.  As you prayerfully consider your gift, be mindful that each gift is important to the success of the Limitless campaign regardless of the amount. We have faith that the Lord will bless and multiply each and every contribution to this building project.

Thank you in advance for your generous, joyful gift, and may the Lord bless Providence Christian Academy as we strive to teach students to seek God’s truth and equip them with the tools for a lifetime of learning.

Blessings,

PCA Board of Directors, Administration and Limitless Partnership Team
