PCA will be hosting our annual golf tournament at Old Fort Golf Club on Friday, May 21.  This is a great opportunity for fellowship, networking, and fun competition. Lunch will begin at 11:30 with a tee time at 1:00. There are many opportunities to get involved. We are looking for hole sponsors as well as sponsors for our putting contest, mulligans, and more. Our annual Upper School Swing Dance is this Friday, Feb. 26. We have an instructor coming to teach us with some great big band music. Meet us in the gym for a night of fun. Dinner (by reservation only) begins at 5:00, and the dance starts at 6:30.

What is Scrip? Scrip cards are gift cards and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase regular household purchases  such a food, clothing, gasoline, and other essentials. With every purchase, you can earn revenue for Providence Christian Academy. You can order cards online through Scrip once you create a free account.  They will send your order to us, and we will deliver right to you. The office places a scrip order each Tuesday so if you would like to place an order for some cards, please contact the front office.

Do you worry about your children? Replace your fear and anxiety with peace and hope by praying with other moms. Moms in Touch International gathers moms together to pray specifically and Scripturally for our children and school. Please join PCA mom, Jeana Traynor beginning Monday, Jan. 7 2010 from 8 to 9 am. We will meet in the PCA conference room in the front office. Our group will meet weekly each Monday morning. For more information, please contact Jeana Traynor at jeanatraynor@comcast.net.

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to ask you to remember PCA’s annual fund, “Celebrating God’s Providence.”  Each and every student at PCA is blessed by your generous donations. Any gifts that you would like to use for tax deduction purposes needs to be written, dated, and postmarked on or before December 31. We will hold our books open until January 15 so that we can issues receipts for contributions postmarked on or before December 31. We will be mailing out annual giving receipts to all individuals during the month of January. Thank you for your faithful support.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Hallee Cartwright Scholarship Benefit. Penny’s Closet was able to donate over $780.00 to Hallee’s fund. Please join us at Calvary Baptist Church for our annual Christmas program on December 4 from  6:30-7:30. Our theme is Christmas Around the World. Students should arrive by 6:10.

Students are to wear black bottoms and Christmas colored tops or Christmas dresses.

The PSO coordinators for this program are Katie Jordan and Rhonda Ward. They will be contacting you with specific needs. One need is for parents to help set-up for the program beginning at 8:30 am in the sanctuary of Calvary on Friday, the 4th. We need help transporting instruments and tables. Our student rehearsal will begin at 9:30 am. We will be setting up chairs following the rehearsal at 10:45/11:00. To volunteer to set-up, contact Rhonda Ward at munkey@comcast.net. Another need is for parents to sit with classes of students during the performance (2 per class) and assist with instruments for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. We also need parents willing to sit with classes of students for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. We are collecting ornaments to decorate small trees from the following countries: Africa, Mexico, Germany, France and the continent of Asia. To volunteer to sit with classes or loan decorations, please contact Katie Jordan at mkjordan@comcast.net.
