Helpful Reminders

PCA Office Hours
School offices (Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric) open at 7:30am and close at 4:00pm on regular school days.  Offices open at 7:30am and close at noon on half days.

Please Use Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pick up Lines
In order to limit traffic within the building, foot traffic in the parking lot, and ensure a safe, smooth, and timely morning drop off and afternoon pick up, all parents are encouraged to use drop off and pick up lines in the morning and afternoon.

Parking During Arrival & Dismissal
In order to reserve the front parking spaces for Grammar School families, Logic and Rhetoric families should not park in the Grammar School front parking lot (the lot closest to DeJarnette Lane) during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

Early Dismissal Guidelines
Students who need to leave school prior to the end of the school day should be checked out 15 minutes prior to the end of the school day in order to allow teachers and students to avoid disruptions at the end of the school day.  On regular school days, this would be before 2:45pm for Grammar students and before 3:00pm for Logic & Rhetoric students.  On half days, this would be before 11:15am for Grammar students and before 11:25am for Logic & Rhetoric students.

Supervision After School Dismissal
As a reminder, after dismissal, all students should be picked up, report to a specific location under the supervision of a coach or  faculty member, or report to after school care.  Students are not to remain on campus unsupervised awaiting an event or a later practice. Any unsupervised student in grade 1st- 8th who is remaining on campus after dismissal will be sent to After School Care and the parent(s) will be charged accordingly through FACTS. To learn more about PCA After School Care or to register your child, follow this link: After School Care Information.  All Rhetoric students must be picked up following dismissal unless they are involved in a supervised school sponsored activity.

Attendance/ Reporting an Absence Reminder
If your child is running late or absent, please call the office or email attendance@providencechristian.com.  Information sent to the attendance@providencechristian.com email address will go to the office and will be shared with the teacher(s).  Phone calls made to the office regarding absences/ tardies will also be shared with the teacher(s).  If there are any health or illness concerns, please email our Health & Wellness Coordinator, Lana Spry at health@providencechristian.com. She will update the office to make them aware that your child is absent. Please note- parents/ guardians will receive a phone call from the school if your child is absent and the PCA office has not received a phone call or email from a parent or legal guardian.

Bicycle Helmet Law Reminder
All students riding bicycles on campus are required to follow TN Child Bicycle Safety Laws which state that all bicycle operators under 16 years of age must wear a bicycle helmet.  Additionally, for the safety of students and others on campus, students riding bikes should not ride on sidewalks while on campus.  Students should walk with their bikes when traveling on sidewalks on campus.

Campus Driving Safety
In order to ensure the safety of our students, families, faculty, and guests, all drivers should adhere to traveling at the posted speed limit of 7 miles per hour or less while driving on campus.  When driving in front of the campus on DeJarnette Lane during school zone times, the speed limit on DeJarnette Lane is 15 miles per hour until your vehicle is completely out of the school zone.  Additionally, per the Tennessee Hands Free Law, all drivers should refrain from using cell phones (talking on the phone, texting, etc.) when driving on campus and pulling through the car line. We appreciate your diligence in protecting all those on our campus by practicing these important safety guidelines.
